Is it a fish? Is it a tetrapod? It's Tiktallik roseae, a FISHAPOD!
Discovering Tiktaalik's fossil was a big deal because it was one of the first fish that ventured on land!
Tiktaalik had a flat, pointy head, four limbs and ribs (like a tetrapod), but also some suspiciously fish-looking bones and ... fish scales!
This is how scientists think it looked, and swam.
After meeting this beauty of a fossil ...
... we decided to stop walking the tree of life and start writing our scripts for our first animations! (It was about time!)
